To get a HeyAlbert API key, request early access; after we confirm your use case we email you a personal key for one named user.
How to get access
- Request early access and tell us which assistant or agent you use.
- We confirm your use case, as we do for every HeyAlbert account.
- We issue a personal API key for one named user and send it to you by email. Keys start with
hak_. - Add the key to Claude, ChatGPT or your agent. See Set up the MCP server.
Keeping your key safe
- One key per named user. Keys are never shared, and a shared key may be revoked.
- Treat the key like a password. Do not paste it into chats, documents or email threads.
- When you connect through the Claude or ChatGPT sign-in page, the assistant stores a HeyAlbert token, not your key.
- If a key is lost or leaked, email albert@heyalbert.site. We revoke it and issue a new one. A revoked key stops working within about a minute, including tokens issued from it.
